Tyndale Life Application Study Bible--REVIEW

**Tyndale, Life Application Study Bible, NLT, Personal Sized, Lords Prayer Edition, Leatherlike Brown**

I was recently blessed with the opportunity to review a Bible for Tyndale. Yes, blessed is a strong word to use but this book is GORGEOUS.

With this Bible, Tyndale takes an already best-selling format and then updates and expands it. This Book is packed full with nearly 10,000 life application notes, to help readers apply God's word to everyday life, and with only 2448 pages in the Book, that is pretty darn impressive! There are footnotes, character studies, summaries at the beginning of each book, timelines, and maps. There is a beautiful section in the front for presentation, and the recording of marriage, births, baptisms, deaths, the family tree, and special memories. Another update is the Christian Workers Resource section, which includes:
* How to become a believer
* How to follow-up with a new believer
* Mining the treasures of a New Application Study Bible
* So you've been asked to speak
* Taking the step to application

Being relatively new to Christianity, this Bible is very exciting for me. There is more 'explanation/application' per page than actual Scripture, which for me means that i might finally be able understand and comprehend, and be able to apply it to my life! This Bible comes in 'personal' size, which is approximately 8x6 inches, and the text is done in 8pt which was fine for me but is a tad on the small side. Though the cover is rather masculine looking and would make a great gift for that man in your life, i personally LOVE it and think that it would also be quite suitable for a woman. It is a bit of an investment with a list price of $59.99, but is easily justified in my opinion!

*I received this book free from Tyndale Publishers, in exchange for an honest review. All opinions are my own.*

the move...

It's currently 25 degrees, at 8:39 pm..i am HOT and EXHAUSTED!
It's been 3 crazy busy days for Mr.Scrappy and I.
On Tuesday Mr.Scrappy's family came down to help us get him moved over to the new house. It was a LONG and exhausting day. We literally flopped down on the futon mattress in the basement to watch Glee on a tv that Mr.Scrappy had absolutely no strength left to lift up onto the credenza...we were livin' like students that night! lol.
Then the poor guy had to get up at 5:30 the next morning to go to work, for a 12 hr shift. So i literally spent ALL day till he got home at 8:30 moving stuff/rearranging/unpacking etc..he came home literally SHOCKED that i had basically done it all, even hung some curtains! :D
I just wanted him to be able to come home and just enjoy a night together of relaxing.
Then today we just had more running around to do, move the empty boxes to my place so i could start packing up our stuff to move, etc..
But it was so nice that little red got to go and play outside in the backyard, trying to learn to skip, and blowing bubbles.
OH! and tonight i got a really great headboard off the mommy forum that i frequent, and it was so nice to be able to go and get it and put it in the new house before Mr.Scrappy gets home from work tonight...he's gonna be so surprised! :D
(it's great! it's an espresso wood with brown suede insert..yum!)
Anywho, that's all for now! Toodles! :D

My Day...

So my day started today at 7:05am..there was a lot on our to-do list for today! We're in the middle of the big 'merger', he moves on tuesday(i move a little bit on tuesday), and then he continues getting the house in order(PAINTING!!!) until we move officially on June 26...
SO, my morning started out WONDERFULLY, as i got to play with my new toy(YUMMM!!!) that an awesome friend GAVE me! Let me just also state here that WOAH-we are definitely a coffee/tea couple! Between us we have an espresso machine, a Tassimo, a Keurig, 2 coffeemakers,a sassy red kitchenaid kettle, and an insane amount of other paraphenelia! :D

Then we needed to get on with the painting fun. Our new place has not been painted in lord knows how long, so let me tell you that the dinginess is rather disturbing. Essentially the ENTIRE 3bdr townhouse needs painted(and did i mention the finished basement too?!). So THANK YOU GOD we found this amazing company that does recycled paint and sells it for 1/2 the normal cost. We bought a contractor size pail of a fantastic 'cotton white' for $65! YAY YAY YAY!!!(they also sell the normal pails for $15, and we already have the brown bedroom colour picked out, but well, that story will come along in a few days)..
So here is a pic of our livingroom, in the process today...wow that was PINK eh?! EWWWWW.

warning: it's raining..pity post..

I swear that when it is grey and rainy and just all around yucky, you can't help but feel down in the dumps and let life get to you a little bit.

Here are the reasons today for my little pity party:

1) my clients seem to be dropping like flies, it sucks, time to find a real job i suppose. But i kinda like my job, so i am sad :(

2) i'm a tad perturbed(this is a word right?!) that i chose June 26th to be my moving day..do you know how frickin FAR AWAY that is?? DO YOU?! I just want to be on the ground level again, when i can walk out the door and sip a tea and read in my muskoka/adirondack chair, or garden or chat with neighbours..gahhh!

3) it's tuesday, it's raining, mr scrappy and i normally do padthai, but i refuse to go out and get it for just myself and well there isn't anything decent to eat here. Well actually i WOULD pop in some chicken wings, but my oven is broken too, and i'm STILL waiting for the fix to happen. It's been 2 days now. grrr.

4) I am broke...like disturbingly and seriously broke, and my starbucks card ran out yesterday too.

5) hey! there is no 5. i just realized this...i sat and sat and nothing came to me! So i am done now. Venting over. I'm gonna go back to vegetating and catching up on 'Private Practice'...cause it's a kidfree day and regardless of the doom n gloom around i will TRY TRY TRY to just shut up and enjoy myself. Feel free to just yell at me in the comment section :)

Here are a couple shots of my mama's day gifts from the girls and mr.scrappy...

And here are a couple shots of Zelda being...well...Zelda! lol.
The bunny is insane, funny, a frickin' genius, crazy adventurous, etc etc...and we love the heck out of her!

Plan B (book review)

I knew when i received the email about Plan B by pastor Pete Wilson, that i HAD to review this book. There was no question about it. I knew that from where i am, living in my own Plan B, that it might just have some answers to such difficult questions. "What do you do with a shattered dream?", "What do you do with an unmet expectation?", and "What do you do when God doesn't show up for you the way you thought God was going to show up?".

When the book finally came in I devoured it in 3 nights. It was the perfect book for reading in bed when the night hits and all those dark thoughts come out. When i got to chapter 5 - Paralyzed, Pete said "But a negative experience like a disappointment or betrayal can override all those motivations. Being blindsided hypes our fear of the unknown. It can make us hunker down, not daring to move or take a risk. Hope and faith and curiousity lose their power to move us forward. WE're not just fearing the unknown; we're fearing a bad unknown. If it happened once, we assume it could happen again." and it was such an "ah-ha" moment for me. I had been frustrated and crying about this only a couple hours prior.

This book is that person who you are looking for that can say "don't worry..me too." Mr. Wilson writes in such a caring, and conversational way, and the book is filled with honest and personal stories of people in his life, and also those from the bible(ie. David, Joseph, Mary, and Martha). It provides hope to get past those shattered dreams and realize that even if life isn't going the way you planned, it doesn't mean that God is failing you.

I was given the opportunity to read "Plan B" by Pete Wilson for free via BookSneeze. My opinions are my own and you may or may not enjoy this book as much as I did.
