Fire

I wasn't really sure what to write... Following some good mama chat on Saturday evening at a birthday party, we were going to go to try out a new church on Sunday morning. We were anticipating some good things if it was to all work out. But on Sunday morning, i did what i always do when i wake up..i shut off the alarm on my Blackberry and with my eyes still half-closed i pop onto Facebook and Twitter to see if anything is new. There was definitely news...there had been a massive fire overnight that had reduced to rubble and ash the BEAUTIFUL new Ministry Centre for Connections Community Church. Talk about a call to come 'home'. There was no way that we could 'try out' a new church when our 'home' church was reeling from such a heartbreak. What will happen now? We have no idea.

random catch-up

I hate when I haven't written in a while and then you know that you need to post SOMETHING but you just can't seem to work it out.
I left off LAST friday with a Zoo post, and promised more..but then the realized that i only had about 2-3 decent shots from Chuck E Cheese, and the other places were on my real camera and well i was just being lazy. le sigh.

So i'm just gonna throw words at you. I've been doing stuff. I have a lot of stuff i need to get done!(and like ASAP!).

I mentioned visiting Chuck E Cheese, that was a blast! We walked in and realized that they had entirely redone the place with all new games! There were a couple super-faves missing, but there were some new games that were pretty darn awesome that became fast new faves!

We also went to the Sugar Bush..those pics are on my camera(not my phone), and i just realized that, so that post will be coming probably tomorrow evening. It was fun! and i have some cute pics!

I have a bunch of finished knitting projects to share...including my first stuffed toy! :)

I got a massive new haircut. As in my hair was down my middle back/maybe slightly longer..and it's now shorter by about 7 inches..it just skims my shoulder..JUST. It's short n flippy and i love it! I realized when i got home and took the straightening iron to it that i should have done it AGES ago and not let the hairdresser talk me out of it!!

I also have other random stuff to share(baking, random things, reviews! a giveaway is waiting to be done too, etc etc)...and i feel better now...i got it all out of me, and this post has somewhat turned into a to-d0 list! I know what i want to post about now both in my head and from here.

I may even share the massive mommy guilt that i experienced yesterday...

March Break Fun!

It's been super busy in our neck of the woods lately! March Break chaos is in full effect! The weather has been fantastic and it's been SO nice to get out of the house and go on some day trips!
Today, I will share Monday's trip to the Toronto Zoo!

1) Cute little Meerkat staring at me! lol. I seriously thought it was gonna take a run at my pink blackberry(i was taking photos with)..'he' seemed very intrigued by it! :)

2) crazy Lion that kept roaring 'at us'..found out later that him and his lady lion seemed to be in a bit of a tif! lol

3) Ring Tailed Lemurs...nothing to say...they're just REALLY awesome.

4) Giraffe's in the 'Giraffe House'...this is their winter homes outdoor area...I bet they can't wait for spring either to get out into their BIG green space!!

5) Silly snow eating elephant..it was seriously cute to watch!! :)

not in much of a writing mood right now, but thought that i should definitely pop on and share 3 recent pics!

First up, this was a pic I took at the Saturday morning knitting and coffee talk table!


Next, is the pic that i took of Orangie at the dentist yesterday! She had to keep pushing up the glasses, as they were a bit too small. But i gotta say she sure rocked out her visit! woot!


And finally, here is a pic of Orangie's painting on her classrooms door! What a nice surprise when i dropped her to school after the dentist! It's her in her snowsuit apparently..the 'thing' on her head is her weird knitted penguin hat! lol.

Orangie J, Toothless Wonder!

Yup! It FINALLY happened! Today she is exactly 6.5 yrs old and she lost her very first tooth! :)
It was a troublesome little bugger..it got stuck pointing out last night! *GAG* I pleaded with her to PLEASE wiggle it some more so that it stands up normally and doesn't make people want to puke! lol
So yes, today while she was eating a grape at lunchtime, it decided that it was time and popped right out!
Orange is one VERY HAPPY CAMPER! She also realized that once 'wiggletooth' came out, the tooth beside it suddenly became a whole lot wigglier! (i give it a week maybe..sigh)

So tonight in celebration we watched 'The Tooth Fairy'(with The Rock *swoon*) and for bedtime story we read 'Franklin and the Tooth Fairy' :)

Just a catch-up..Yesterday did NOT go as planned..my mom did not want to go out, so we rescheduled for today, but then Orange needed to go to the doctor, so maybe tomorrow..again..i am getting frustrated with this, lets hope that she'll leave the house!

I got my new glasses yesterday(yay!) but then was driving to knitting and found out that they had a major glare issue and were rather scary to drive with on(due to the funky side pieces)..so they went back this morning for some anti-glare coating, and if that doesn't fix it then we're back at square one :(

I did not find the balls to cut my hair..well, not yet..

I went to knitting last night and...YAY! My cowl is finally done!!! I absolutely LOVE it, and it's so softie and wonderful! I started on my wave scarf again last night, and then once again ripped it out in frustration...BUT thanks to 2 helpful knitter friends this morning at coffee, I CAN NOW DO IT!!(pics next time!)

Anywho, time for 'Despicable Me' movie night! woot!

things for today

So today is kind-of a mixed bag here...there's 'lots' on my plate and i'm still trying to keep the looming sick at bay..i am still rather congested but so far nothing bad at all like the girls had.
ANYWHO. So my new glasses should be ready any time now, i'm really hoping for TODAY..she said mid-week..and they're rather cooler than my current glasses which therefore makes me cry out for a change...


..for about 3 weeks now i've been debating cutting my hair off, or well approx 8 inches..it's mid back right now and honestly i just don't have the drive to straighten it every other day and actually CARE(i am such a hairball), so i'm thinking HACK IT OFF! It's always in a bloody ponytail..blah blah blah!!! I just really hope it's not the winter blahs jading my thoughts and making me all crazy!

I also need to stop by my moms and CONVINCE her that we need to go out and get her some groceries, etc. Please note that this is not even remotely a fun task. She is a rather depressed, chronically ill, and an alcoholic. She is also a smoker, and i will need to come home afterwards and shower..sigh. This will be a hard and almost day long task. Pray for this to go easily for me, please.

BUT regardless of my day, i have my knit night tonight(I miss my knit buddy like MAD, it's been FOREVER i tell ya, or well a REALLY long couple of weeks)....where i will desperately knit as fast as i possibly can to get my cowl done..it's been a unnecessarily long process(due to me just slacking off) and well it's march now and the spring is bound to be coming soon..so really really i should get it done! Here's where it's at currently..



And i also need to do some form of physical activity..sigh. I see the dr in 28 days and i need to have lost SOMETHING by then. I also feel like a load of poo, and now with no caffeine in me i a big tired lazy lump of poo :(
So i WILL do SOMETHING today even if it's just wiifit!

There are also countless other small items on my to-do list(typing minutes out from a meeting and submitting, etc etc), but i really don't need to list them ALL off...SO what are you up to today?
