Finally! A happy trip to the thrift shop!

Anyone who knows me knows that I HATE clothes shopping! I like to look and wander the mall but when I need to actually get something for myself it's depressing and I usually end up crying or just angry...
Anywho..so yesterday I realized that I left my need to find funeral clothes really late. I mean really?? Try and outfit myself in one day, on the cheap? Yeah right.
I dropped the kids to school and got on my way..first stop? A big thrift shop here in town that's like a department store(no, not Value Village, I REALLLLLY dislike them!)

And guess what?! I scored BIG. I actually got my entire funeral outfit PLUS MORE for $59. I have clothing that FITS me, and I didn't even *sniffle* I bit. I may have even smiled the WHOLE time!!
(seriously, this is a MAJOR feat!)

Here's my funeral outfit..sweet black Jessica dress, calf-length on me, i love it - $12...adorable little Jessica grey cardigan - $6...worn once maybe Madden Girl shoes - $5...Outfit total: $23!!

And then I lucked out and found more clothing that totally works for me! woohoo!

I absolutely LOVE the sweater on the left. It literally makes me grin with giddiness, it's soooo soft and wonderful!! $10...and the jacket-thing on the right is just all shades of wonderful. It reminds me of something I would drool over at Lululemon. It's made of a matte black workoutwear material, but it's long sleeved(as in covers my hand which i LOVE) and it also covers my big ol' tush(which is also a BIG bonus!) $8!

Sweet brand new tags-on Joe tshirt..love the soft loose style and I love the puckery neckline $6...and the blouse on the right was just an added bonus, it's not usually like me to wear a blouse because they NEVER fit me right..they usually gap between the buttons or are too tight around the belly or they're the opposite and just look HUGE on me..but I LOVE this one and it was $4! It'll be great for work, even though I like to wear sweaters/cardigans there, because it's a wool shoppe.

So yay..i'm a happy girl and I spent $59 tax in!(i bought my girl a couple books too)

What do you think??

That is great! I totally thought that jacket was Lululemon. Exactly what I was thinking!

I love Value Village. I've gotten some great vintage toys from Fisher Price and love the vintage kitchen bowls etc......
Love great deals but sorry for your loss.

You sound exactly like me! I don't like shopping either because I get so upset when things don't fit or they just don't look right. Or when I have to realize that the bottom of me takes a larger size than the top half. I am exactly like you. I love going to a thrift store and walking out with great buys. I cannot believe what some people donate. You got some awesome finds. I really like the sweater on the left too! Looks so comfy and stylish!

Wow! Great scores! I barely ever find anything at the thrift store for me, mind you being plus sized doesn't help. I have to go shopping for me tomorrow for a conference I leave for on Wed!

Those are some great scores for sure. That's why I love thrifting.
