Let's go back to the keywords though...out of my comfort zone!! I have a tendency to get frustrated very easily..and with that comes tears. I'm a very emotional person. BUT I am sooo proud! No matter how insanely frustrated I was last night I held back the tears! (thank god! I sure didn't want to be THAT person..crying in a simple knitting class!!)
Anywho..I finally got the crazy cast-on(Judy's Magic Cast-On) that we were doing on the sticks..and managed to get a bit of knit on..but wow, I have a long road to go yet!
Here's what I've got so far:
In this class we're doing a toe-up method..that way you know that you have enough wool and that it's actually going to fit you before you're done! The wool I'm using is a one-of-a-kind handpainted donegal sock wool that HPKY made for the store I work at. LOVE it!

Cool! Cannot wait to see the finished product!
I sure wish I knew how to knit!
Oh how cool, I'd love a pair once you've mastered this!
As long as you don't pick up the needles and throw them across the room, accidentally hit someone in the head and THEN start crying, you're okay. 'Cause that's what I'd do. . . . ;) I wanted to learn to knit a while ago. I've got oodles of books, several different size needles and some yarn. And they're sitting there! I think I'll add that onto my 50 before Fifty list. I'm sure your socks will come along fine. Good Luck!!
Good for you! I just learned how to knit socks recently and I absolutely love it! :)
We had a dear family friend who knitted socks for everyone, she has passed away now. Good for you going out of your comfort zone - that is so hard.
I don't knit, I don't have the patience! Can't wait to see the finished product!
So impressive! I have zero knitting skills, so I'm always amazed when someone takes on a project like this. Can't wait to see how they turn out!
More power to you! :) I learned to knit a little. But I'm blessed to have a friend who has knitted me a few things! And am I ever grateful, her work is beautiful. Good luck on the socks. :)
I've been knitting off and on for years but have never tackled sock knitting...Hmmm...maybe I'll have to go outside my comfort zone too. Love the yarn colour you have chosen, someone is going to have a comfy pair of warm socks this winter!
good for you! I have never been able to pick it up
I tried knitting once. I can't sit still long enough :(
I can crochet, but knitting is hard for me. I bought knitting stuff, wanted to make socks, but it's too much for a first project and I got discouraged,, and have continued to crochet!
That looks so complicated! I'm all thumbs so I shudder to think of what would happen if I attempted to knit. Probably wouldn't make it past the first stitch.
