Rags
What would happen if Cinderella were a guy instead of a girl? Rags introduces us to Charlie, a super-talented singer songwriter who can’t seem to catch a break. He’s an orphan living with his mean stepfather and not-so-bright stepbrothers and his dream is to finally be recognized. Everything changes when he meets Kadee, the amazing singer and daughter of a music mogul, who also wants the world to see her true talent.

*Thoughts from OHM*
I admit it. I didn't see it coming. I put this movie on for my girls (almost 8 and 12) to watch, and totally ended up getting sucked in myself, these are REALLY great movies!!..and you won't catch him admitting it but the mr may have caught 3/4 of Big Time Movie with us! I think it was all the cool 'spy' action and silly humour! This is definitely a keeper at our house! The girls have plans to watch it all again on Thursday! A must have for family movie nights!

SpongeBob SquarePants: Ghoul Fools Episode List:

Angering the Flying Dutchman further, SpongeBob and Patrick manage to shave off his beard with the lawn mower. SpongeBob explains they don’t know what it’s like to be a ghost and the Dutchman turns them into ghosts.

Ghost Host

The Flying Dutchman takes up residence at SpongeBob’s house where he proceeds to scare, startle and surprise SpongeBob around the clock. Eventually, SpongeBob becomes no longer afraid and creates a panic for the old ghost. In the end, SpongeBob decides to lend a hand and help the Flying Dutchman learn to scare people again.

Money TalksMr. Krabs makes a wish that he could talk to money. When his wish is magically granted, Krabs learns what all of his dollars, pennies and quarters have been longing for – Krabs to spend them.

* Thoughts from OHM *
I really don't think that Spongebob will EVER get old in this house! Spongebob is definitely one of two go-to shows for my girls. I'm pretty sure that Ghouls Fools has been played about 6 times since getting it in!! (in rotation with other spongebob videos too!!)
I don't know what it is but I just LOVE episodes with the Flying Dutchman in it..so this video is a must have!

Awesome time at the U-Pick Farm!

This morning we decided to take a trip out to the u-pick veggie farm on the outskirts of town. I can't believe it's been 2 years since I visited there last! But when I saw the haul that my friend bought for $24 last week, I knew that I HAD to go again and SOON!

We picked lots of fun stuff!
1 dozen corn
8 tomatoes
2 dinners worth of green and yellow beans
8 eggplant
and about 8 zucchini

Guess how much we paid?

$8.00

I seriously could have jumped for joy, I was THAT happy with our purchases!
I have a feeling that we'll be going back again at the end of next week and many many more times before the first frost! What a deal! and what a fun time!!

Do you have a u-pick farm near you? Do you like to visit?

Watermelon Blogger Challenge: Healthy Pink Princess Breakfast Cakes #NWPM

I recently received a really cool watermelon blogger kit to participate in the "first-ever kid-tastic Watermelon Blogger Challenge". I decided to go with creating a kid-friendly recipe using watermelon. Here is what we came up with.
It was really fun to create and have fun with my family while making a healthy but cool breakfast!

So we started out by whipping up some pancake batter..and to give it a bit of fruity princess flair we added in some strawberry puree(aka 1 small jar of strawberry baby puree). This kicks up the healthy factor and keeps out the fruit chunks that Orangie refuses to eat! We also added some red food colour to make them more pink! Just cook up the pancakes like normal only keeping them on the smaller kid-friendly size..

So while the mr was frying up our pancakes, I had Orangie helping me out making fun watermelon cut-outs for other aspects of our 'cake'.

On the other side of the kitchen I had Hero set-up making the 'candles' for on our 'cake'. She is skewering blueberries and watermelon teddybear cut-outs onto toothpicks.

Now it's time to assemble them! Stack 2 pink pancakes, add on watermelon flower, a dollop of vanilla yogurt, a few sprinkles, and a fruit 'candle'! Voila! Healthy kid-friendly FUN breakfast!

Now, Orangie decided her food couldn't be eaten this way..so she took it apart and dunked her pancake in the yogurt! Phew! She LOVED it! Actually we all LOVED this breakfast!

Oh! and before I go..here's a shot of the girls in the aprons from the kit! they LOVE them!
(Hero took my adult size one!)

Please let me know if you try out this recipe! I'd love to know what you think! :)

* Thanks so much to FayeClack Communications and The National Watermelon Promotion Board for giving us the opportunity to participate in this cool blogger contest! *

Certain Dri - review/giveaway

Don't spend life worrying about embarrassing, underarm sweat stains! Instead, get 72-hour sweat protection from Certain Dri Anti-Perspirant. Both the roll-on and the solid provide triple the 24-hour promise of the other clinical strength antiperspirants at a fraction of the cost! Just apply it, forget it and raise your arms in confidence for 72 hours.

Certain Dri Anti-Perspirant is the strongest available formula without a prescription and it the #1 over-the-counter antiperspirant recommended by doctors for controlling excessive underarm perspiration. Certain Dri should be applied approximately 2-3 times a week at bedtime, allowing it to penetrate pores overnight. If you still want to use a deodorant in the morning - you can create your own personal sweat protection system with your favourite deodorant or Certain Dri A.M Underarm Refresher.

Thoughts from OHM:
When I got this in the mail my first reaction was hmm..this packaging looks very unisex..hope it smells good! And it did! The solid has a nice light baby powder scent! I did think it felt weird putting anti-perspirant on before bed, but I totally understand why, and it works great! This is a great product and I'm glad I got the chance to try it out! I'll be on the look-out now to see if I can find it here in Canada! My only wish is that it was a 'prettier' product or had more scents available!

Certain Dri is available in mass market retain, supermarkets and drug stores nationwide, as well as online retailers and at http://www.certaindri.com/. Suggested retail price for Certain Dri Anti-Perspirant Roll-On, Solid, and A.M Underarm Refresher(solid or roll-on) is $5.50-$5.99 (typically 40% less than "clinical strength" antiperspirants).

Learn more at http://www.certaindri.com/ and join our sweat-free community at www.facebook.com/certaindri for offers and giveaways!

Tetley Infusions 'Rescue Squad' - giveaway

Oh my! *swoon*..these guys can come and rescue my water anytime! :)

But seriously, I love what Tetley Canada has done here! In addition to rescuing people's water..
Tetley has also worked to donate $10,000 to the UNICEF Water Project. This project’s goal is to help improve access to safe water and sanitation facilities in schools and communities for some of the nearly 900 million people who don’t have access to safe drinking water.

Have YOU tried Tetley Infusions? I was a fan before they even sent me a review kit to sample. If you read my blog you know I'm a big big tea fan..hot, cold, it doesn't matter to me! So when i saw them at the grocery store I needed to try! I absolutely LOVE that they have gone with a nice natural tea flavour!  (Why people buy that powdered, chemical-tasting, too sweet ice tea mix stuff is beyond me!)  I love that when I pickup a box of Tetley Infusions I can pronounce the ingredients and know what they are! Did you know that they're sweetened with Raw Cane Sugar? They're also extremely portable and easy to use! Each Infusion mix packet is strong, I've carried them in my purse with no leaks! Then when I'm on the go and needing a delish drink i just grab my bottle of water(i tend to keep a case in my trunk!), take a quick sip, and pour in my 30ml Infusions packet and give a little shake. YUM!

Here's my fave..White Tea with Cherry & Orange Blossom!

For more information on Tetley Infusions be sure to check out the website, and join in the fun on the Facebook page :)

#Knit: I finished my Bohemian Shawl in Piccadilly!

Woohoo! I finally finished the Bohemian Shawl I was working on for display at work.
I really loved the way it knit up. I was also REALLY happy with the 'wool' that I chose (it's Rowan Summerspun in 'Picadilly'). I think it's a new favourite. I might need to make another one in a different colourway!

* Here it is being worked on..love my jammies? lol *

* It's done! Time to SOAK it! This was my first time doing this! It smelled sooo good! *

* Time to BLOCK it(to make all the pretty lacey holes show nicely)! It's about 4-4.5 ft long and took about a bajillion pins, or well it felt that way! This was also a first for me..I *think* I did a good job! *

* And here 'she' is all done and pretty and on display at my work. I miss 'her'. I think I need to make another one asap! *

Well, it's month 2 of my 3 month Adult Essentials Ambassadorship with ShesConnected.

So what have I noticed with taking my vitamins? One thing is that I am not such a tired beast in the morning or late in the afternoon! Bonus!(Especially for the mr and my girls!! No one wants a grouchy mama!) I'm also finding that I'm generally just feeling pretty darn good, and haven't had any illness, and it seems like lots of people around me have been fighting off summer colds! Woohoo! Oh, and another sweet bonus is that by taking my 'gummy buffet' in the afternoon I found that I haven't been 'needing' to snack on bad foods nearly as much! Now if only that would reflect in my mid-section!

Litfuse Tour: Tidewater Inn by Colleen Coble

Welcome to Hope Beach. A place of intoxicating beauty . . . where trouble hits with the force of a hurricane.

ABOUT THE BOOK: Inheriting a beautiful old hotel on the Outer Banks could be a dream come true for Libby. The inn cries out for her restorer's talent and love of history. She's delighted to learn of the family she never knew she had. And the handsome Coast Guard lieutenant she's met there on the island could definitely be the man of her dreams.
But Libby soon realizes that the only way she can afford the upkeep on the inn is to sell it to developers who are stalking the island. The father who willed her the inn has died before she could meet him, and her newfound brother and sister are convinced she's there to steal their birthright. THOUGHTS FROM OHM:
WOW. I cannot say enough about this book. I wasn't too sure what to expect, as I hadn't read any of Colleen's books before, and sometimes it can really be hit or miss with Christian fiction. But from page 1 this book had my attention, and had it tight! So tight infact that I read the book in about a 30 hour span! Everything was just right for me..the characters, the storyline, the writing, etc. It played out so nicely in my head, that I could totally see this book becoming a movie. I loved the book so much that in the same day that I finished it, I handed it over to a friend who was leaving for the cottage and said 'You HAVE to read this! You'll LOVE it!'.
