* This little sweetie died in my arms Christmas Eve morning.*
* edited to add: sorry, I guess I should say what happened..already getting questions..on the evening of the 23rd I noticed that she seemed 'off', maybe lethargic, just not her usual self. So I pet her a bit and added some more healthy snacks to the cage hoping she'd snap out of it..the next morning she seemed the same, but came up to the top level of the cage to see me and visit the food dish(though she didn't eat anything)..I went to pet her and noticed she was quite chilly so I pulled her out for some warm-up snuggles and she died 10 minutes later.
My only guess is that she must have had a VERY quick acting respiratory infection, as she never appeared 'off' until the night before, but i did notice a very TINY amount of crust at her nose.
Our other guineapig Cocoa seems to be doing well. She's been a bit quiet, but this morning she was peppy and running around the cage like a loon. I think the mourning is over.

It's so sad when we lose a pet. We lost out kitty this past year.
:-( I can relate...we lost our dog to pneumonia one week before Christmas :-( so sad when it's an illness you can't catch quick enough to help :-( so sorry for your loss!

Sorry for your loss. We just had to put our dog down on Dec. 28th. It is very hard.
