We LOVE Niagara Falls.
It’s really as simple as that. It’s the perfect daytrip spot for us, as it’s only a quick 2 hour drive from our home! I think we visit a minimum 5 times per year..at least once per season!
The Falls, walking along the parkway, exploring Clifton Hill, and the awesome seasonal activities like skating, light displays, fireworks, parades, etc etc!
Niagara Falls really is “Like Nowhere Else!”
Recently I was chosen to be a Falls Avenue Resort Ambassador.
— Falls Avenue Resort is North Americas largest hotel and Waterpark Complex. It is 20 acres in size and is located directly across from Niagara Falls —
So we picked a weekend, packed up, and got to experience Niagara Falls like we never had before! And let me tell you…it was AMAZING!
But now we know that it’s also the perfect place for a FAB family getaway!
Sheraton On The Falls
We started out weekend by checking in at the 4 Diamond rated Sheraton On The Falls. The staff were very welcoming! Even the valet staff quickly put the mr at ease about handing over his keys! (he might be a tad protective of his new car! lol). Our check-in went quick and easy, and off we went to check out the view from our 16th floor Fallsview room!
* Talk about a room with a view! – and as you can tell the weather was a bit on the wet side for our first day, but that didn’t dampen our excitement! *
Our room was fantastic! Big, bright, and spacious! We absolutely LOVED the floor to ceiling window! And the beds were a dream! We all got a very restful night sleep! *Orangie gave top-marks to her choice of bed; the pull-out couch! No bed-sharing with sister for her! lol.
And I gotta say that it was really nice to wake up and have this as my view!
* Good Morning! – the rain clouds were quickly being pushed away, and it became a perfectly sunny day with a big blue sky! *
After checking out the room, and a quick tourist-y walkaround (we HAD to visit Hershey!) in the damp weather, our rumbly bellies needed tending to! It was definitely time for dinner at the Fallsview Restaurant. We LOVED our experience here! It was buffet-style, with live-action stations (my favourite was the seafood station..serious YUM! and the mr enjoyed the very tender Prime Rib!). Favourite stations for the kids were the well-thought-out kid-friendly station (featuring slider burgers, pogos, very cheesy homemade mac ‘n cheese, chicken nuggets, etc) and the dessert station, which had a very extensive selection of decadent desserts, and a wide variety of fruit!
The service was fantastic, the staff all very friendly and accommodating, and the views were spectacular! (2 of the 4 ‘walls’ were entirely floor to ceiling windows)
* Right below where we were eating there was a group getting wedding photos done! *
Fallsview Indoor Waterpark
After a quick break back in the room, where we did a bit of this..
Then we were off to the Fallsview Indoor Waterpark!!
— Hotel is connected to the waterpark and dining, attractions, entertainment on Falls Avenue Resort via indoor walkway! —
I can’t even begin to tell you how amazing this place is! It’s 3 acres of splashy goodness! and it’s WARM — 84 degrees year-round to be exact! There is fun for all ages here!
We visited the waterpark twice on our visit. The first day we visited from 7-9pm, and the 2 days we went from 9-10:45am. Both times we felt were absolutely perfect, they were off-peak times, meaning not many people there! The mr and I didn’t really consider ourselves the waterpark visiting type, until our visit, and now I am totally trying to plan our next visit!! I was really excited for the big wave pool going in, but I ended up truly loving riding the big slides on a double-tube with Orangie. And as for my girls, well they loved EVERYTHING and never wanted to leave, and when we did leave they were immediately asking when we were going back!
My girls had such a great time I was even able to get a fantastic shot of them TOGETHER and SMILING!
Fallsview Indoor Waterpark REALLY is a place…Like Nowhere Else!!
Before we headed home there was one more place we just HAD to visit. We couldn’t leave without going to Rainforest Café! It was our first time, and it couldn’t have been a better experience! We went in about 20 minutes after it opened, there were only a few other tables in use. The service was fast and friendly, the food was hot and tasty, the prices (which i’d been worried about) were no different than your average restaurant, our family of 4 were well-fed for just under $100 (including the collectable cups for the girls and I!). We loved the animatronic animal shows every 15 mins, and the ‘thunderstorms’ every 1/2 hour. Although the 3 yr old(?) at the table nearby wasn’t a fan!
We will definitely be returning!
Thank you SOOOO much to PTPA and Falls Avenue Resort for this amazing weekend. It was nice to get a rare weekend away with my family. The helped to re-connect us, and was a weekend we’ll never forget!
