Escarpment Trail Hiking #wordlesswednesday w linky!

A couple weeks ago we headed out for a fun family hike together on the Escarpment Trail in Dundas/Hamilton Ontario! It was the perfect cool day, and the trail gave some very cool views over the escarpment! I may have told the girls MANY times over half the hike to stay AWAY from the edge of the trail!! (cause it went pretty much STRAIGHT DOWN!) yikes!

Your turn! Link up! :)

  1. I always loved hiking Escarpment Trail, one of the things I miss about living in Hamilton. Websters Falls is a great place, too!

    1. We absolutely LOVE Websters Falls, and had gone to go there that day but it was $10 to get in, completely overrun with people,we only had about an hour, and the stairs to get down are closed off?! *cry*
Luckily the mr grew up in the area and knew to try out escarpment trail!

  6. LOL....I understand the "Get away from the edge!" language. We had that problem in Yosemite. It was 1000 foot drop off, in the fog, so my kids had no idea how dangerous the place was! But they listened after a good lecture!! :)

Hopefully, the next time you go back, they'll have a healthier reverence for the edge! ;)

  7. The Escarpment Trail is one of my faves. There are so many great places to hike in General Hamilton Area. Also love the rail trail that goes to Brantford.

  8. Sound rather ominous, but fun! I always have the fear of the unknown but once I learn the task, plan or whatever then I usually love it.

  9. It looks like a beautiful place to visit. I would be so scared to let my kids venture to the edge.

  12. What a beautiful trail. I love nature. Thanks for sharing your pictures and for stopping by Stanley & Katrina's blog. By the way, I had to look up what an escarpment is.. Sounds a bit nerve-wracking, as a mom, with kids nearing the edge. :)
